1978 Lotus Esprit S2 Unfinished Project 

This Lotus Esprit S2 vin number 0475G was one of the Lotus cars press cars and has featured in various car magazines . It comes with a large box file of service history which includes a certificate of provenance from Lotus Cars and a couple of magazines the car has featured in . Also included with the sale is a workshop manual to help you complete the build .

The project was started about nine years ago but unfortunately never completed . We have started the car and it runs well and moves freely it has new suspension in all four corners and the brake callipers have been refurbished . The Lotus will need a full service including all belts and no doubt some other some other bits and pieces looked at .

The body was completely stripped back and fully repainted a couple of years ago to a good standard so the paintwork is in very good order . New bumpers have been fitted as have most of the other body parts . The waistband is currently just placed in position so will need fitting properly with the correct adhesive . The windscreen  also needs to be installed  we have the original screen with the new chrome trims which is ready to be fitted . The O/S door will need the window motor installed and as with the N/S both door cards need installing.

The interior will need a new carpet set fitted [not supplied] but available from SJ Sports Cars and other outlets . The rear compartment has a new carpet set which is just laid out in position at the moment and will need fitting correctly . The head rails and sun visor panel have been re-trimmed and the head lining has been made but again these need installing . Both seats have been recovered in cream vinyl but the rear panel behind the seats, the arm rest panel, window switch panel and gear gaiter panel will need attention . The brown marcasite dash board and door cards are in good order .

To summarise this is a fairly straight forward  project to complete at minimal cost compared to starting from scratch and lots of money has already spent, if it can not be sold at this stage we will complete the work ourselves .
